LED monitors don't deliver

I know everyone is really excited about the new high refresh rate LED TVs, but I don't recommend them for video pros, or videophiles. They are spectrum-limited based on my observations while trying to calibrate a couple of them. If you rely on having proper color calibration for doing media work of any kind, the LEDs don't deliver.
Samsung claims they are 114% of NTSC gamut, Which may be the reason they are impossible to calibrate to NTSC colors. (Some say NTSC stands for "Never The Same Colors")
There are other media professionals who agree with me.

  1. I have a 24 inch samsung monitor, and i work with colors and illustration software, and i must say i really prefer LED over LCD monitors... they are much brighter and the contrast is way better than lcd. Dont know about video editing stuff, but for what i need, it goes well..
