Small computer devices, like smartphones have slower processors and less memory than large computer systems. Frankly, I think that's OK. It keeps the small devices small, makes them use less battery power, and generate less heat. It also keeps the cost of them to a reasonable level.
The problem with developers is that they don't seem to be thinking that way. They keep developing applications for more and more powerful machinery, and the hardware manufacturers keep trying to push the limits of speed with their small devices.
Please slow down for just a minute and think.
If your software is light and efficient then it will run fast on a machine with a slower CPU and less memory. Your hardware developers will have a chance to have a greater profit margin, and sell more hardware, and as a result, more of your software will go into distribution! It's a numbers game.

This is cool, I am totally agree with you small software runs smoothly in a low memory system..!Nice Post
ReplyDeleteI support this idea. As an android user, i must say that sometimes developers forget they are developing for handheld devices. I have a motorola milestone with an overclocked processor, 2x 500mhz , and still cant get some apps to work properly.
ReplyDeleteReally annoying.
